Het boek verweeft poëzie\, muziek en activisme tot een krachtig verhaal over identiteit en strijd. \n‘Dankzij De laatste dichters kan ook een jongere generatie kennismaken met deze godfathers van spoken word. Dat heeft mij\, ons\, zoveel rijker gemaakt.’ – Babs Gons\n‘Otten doet niet onder voor native Amerikaanse schrijvers als Lisa Alther en Alice Walker.’ – De Groene Amsterdammer \n~ over Christine Otten ~\nChristine Otten is schrijver\, theatermaker en schrijfcoach. Haar werk kenmerkt zich door een groot maatschappelijk engagement. Ze brak in 2004 door met de roman ​De laatste dichters​\, die genomineerd werd voor de Libris Literatuur Prijs. Andere titels die indruk maakten zijn het autobiografische ​Om adem te kunnen halen​ (2013) en ​We hadden liefde\, we hadden wapens​ (2016)\, eveneens bewerkt voor theater\, en het vluchtelingendrama ​Rafaël\, dat werd verfilmd. \nAanmelden:
