Commons Lab: Radical Abundance

How can we work on the transition to a green and democratic future here and now? How can we democratize the economy?
Radical Abundance, a recent book written by Keir Milburn, Bertie Russell and Kai Heron, sets out what this transition looks like and lays out a strategy for achieving it. The book not only offers an analysis of what’s wrong but also provides starting points for how we can interweave and strengthen various existing and future community initiatives to achieve self-expansion of the commons.
For this Commons Lab, Keir Milburn and Bertie Russel will give a presentation on Radical Abundance, but we will also explore the possibilities of public-common partnerships for Amsterdam. For example, how does it connect with the Community Wealth Building approach for a democratic and equitable local economy? After the presentation, we will use Voedselpark Amsterdam as a case study for what a public-common partnership could look like.
